Summer is  a fun time for music and June and July really brought the summer heat. A highlight and breakout artist is these months  is definitely SZA. SZA who is also a fellow Jersey girl, dropped her album CTRL off of Top Dawg Entertainment. T.D.E positions and pushes their artists to maintain their creative edge and SZA did not disappoint. CTRL really showed that SZA is not just here to stay with her unique voice but also with her songwriting. SZA keeps it real by giving you the perspective and position you have always either been curious about or wanted represented. Her honesty is what makes this project a classic. Other notable drops were Bryson Tiller’s True To Self, Partynextdoors’s Colour’s 2 EP, and H.E.R’s Volume 2.

Artists that you need to add on your radar are Sabrina Claudio, James Fauntleroy who is also a feature on SZA’s album, India Shawn, and Xavier Omar.
